Whether the welding shape looks good or not is related to the welding sequence

The welding sequence is the welding sequence of each weld, which part is welded first and which part is welded later.

Influence of unreasonable welding sequence on welding quality:

(1) The welding sequence affects the stress and deformation of the weldment. Unreasonable welding sequence will cause the deformation or excessive internal stress of the weldment, reduce the quality of the weldment and scrap the weldment.

(2) Unreasonable assembly and welding sequence will lead to difficult welding at some positions, which will reduce the strength or air tightness requirements of the welded structure.

(3) The selection of welding sequence is unreasonable. The weld in contact with corrosive medium will be subjected to thermal action after welding, resulting in intergranular corrosion and reducing the corrosion resistance of weldments.

How to select welding sequence

The basic principles for selecting welding sequence are as follows:

(1) From the perspective of assembly welding, the welding sequence should be considered on the premise of not causing welding difficulties.

(2) From the perspective of reducing residual stress and welding deformation:

a. Welding outward from the center of the welded structure;

b. Welding from thick plate to thin plate

c. Weld the joint with large shrinkage first, and then weld the reduced joint

d. Weld the vertical weld first and then the horizontal weld;

e. Parallel welds shall be welded in the same direction as much as possible

f. Weld the short weld first and then the long weld
